"Never regret anything that made you smile." - Mark Twain
"Live your dreams; tomorrow isn't promised to anyone of us." - Vincent L. Caruso, Jr.
"Life would be tragic if it weren't funny." - Stephen Hawking
"I Love You, Vincent." - Mom
My name is Vincent, but you can call me Vinny. I was named after my Dad and honestly, the only one that called me Vincent was my Mom. My parents had hearts of gold, they were a major influence in my life and I will always be grateful for their love, friendship and support they always provided. I can only hope I’ve made them proud, as they look down from heaven.
Life goes by and before you know it something changes your life forever. As a young man, I was athletic, fit, could run like the wind and at the age of 26 I was diagnosed with heart disease. I was told I would never run again, something I loved was taken away from me. I'm sure you can relate somehow, we all have a story. :)
One of my dreams was always to run the New York City Marathon. Twelve years later, with my bride Amy and our families/friends support, I accomplished my goal, crossing the finish line in 2010, while raising money and awareness for seriously ill children at Paul Newman's - The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. Then again in 2011.
After crossing the finish line at the 2014 Boston Marathon, I decided it was time to live another dream and strive to become a professional photographer. My dream of becoming a photographer still burned, so I decided to leave my career of 15 years, enrolled at the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Turners Falls, MA, graduated and the rest is history!
Life is short, we all don’t know how our book ends, but when I cross life’s finish line, I would love to leave behind smiles and happiness for all to see. Maybe even a good laugh or two.
Live your dreams; tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone of us.
Are you ready?
(I mean Vinny!! lol)
